For Buyers

Everything you need to know about reserving, inspecting, and buying with confidence.

Réserve Achat is a vehicle marketplace where you can browse, list, and reserve cars online. Whether you're buying, selling as an individual, or managing inventory as a dealership, everything goes through one account.

You browse listings on the marketplace and reserve vehicles you're serious about. For private sellers, you pay a small reservation fee ($1 per day, up to 3 days) to hold the vehicle while you arrange a visit. For dealerships, you place a deposit set by the dealer and visit within their inspection window. After your in-person visit, you decide whether to buy—with clear refund paths if something isn't right.

Reserving shows the seller you're committed to visiting—not just browsing. It holds the vehicle for your inspection window and keeps both sides accountable. That means fewer no-shows, less wasted time, and more transparent transactions.

When you find a vehicle you want from a private seller, you pay a reservation fee of $1 per day for up to 3 days. That holds the listing while you coordinate a visit. The fee and visit window are shown on the listing before you pay.

A dealership deposit is a refundable hold you pay to reserve a viewing slot on a dealer listing. The amount and inspection window are set by the dealership and shown before you pay. It's separate from the private seller reservation fee.

As soon as your reservation is confirmed, use in-app chat to schedule your visit within your reserved window. Inspect the vehicle in person and compare it to the listing—condition, mileage, equipment, and history. There's no obligation to buy if it's not the right fit. After your visit, you have a 24-hour review window to report issues if something doesn't match.

For Sellers

How to list your vehicle, manage reservations, and get paid on Réserve Achat.

Réserve Achat is a vehicle marketplace where you can browse, list, and reserve cars online. Whether you're buying, selling as an individual, or managing inventory as a dealership, everything goes through one account.

Anyone in Québec and across Canada with a verified account can buy or sell. One account does everything—once you're signed up and verified, you can list vehicles for sale, reserve vehicles you're interested in, and manage everything from your dashboard.

You'll be notified and can accept or decline the reservation. If you accept, the vehicle is held for the agreed period while the buyer arranges a visit. If you decline, the buyer is automatically refunded.

Yes. When a buyer reserves your vehicle, you have 24 hours to accept or decline—no pressure. If you decline, the buyer receives a full refund automatically through Stripe.

After the buyer's inspection, they have 24 hours to report issues if the vehicle doesn't match the listing. You may receive a review after the visit as well. If there's a dispute, our support team can help mediate based on the listing and inspection notes.

For Dealerships

Deposits, inspection windows, and managing high-volume reservations.

Dealership listings use a deposit set by the dealer, displayed before a buyer reserves. It's a refundable hold that secures a viewing slot while the buyer arranges an in-person visit during your inspection window.

Each dealer sets a deposit between $100 and $1,000 CAD depending on the vehicle. The amount and inspection window are always shown on the listing before the buyer reserves.

You can accept or decline deposit requests before the inspection period begins—similar to how private sellers handle reservations. If you decline, the buyer is refunded automatically.

Yes. When you list a vehicle in RA Pro, you set the inspection window. Buyers visit within that period to inspect the vehicle in person. The window is shown on the listing before they pay their deposit.

After an inspection, buyers have 24 hours to report issues if the vehicle doesn't match the listing. You can issue a partial or full refund when appropriate. If you and the buyer can't agree, our support team steps in to mediate.

Getting Started

New to Réserve Achat? Start here.

Réserve Achat is a new way to buy and sell cars in Quebec and across Canada. Instead of endless messages, ghosting, and wasted trips, buyers reserve a vehicle they're interested in — locking it in for a short window so they can visit and inspect it without competing with other buyers. Sellers get serious people at their door instead of tire-kickers. Everyone saves time.

You lock in a car you're interested in with either a $1-per-day reservation with a private seller (up to 3 days) or a deposit with a dealership (between $100 and $1,000 CAD, set by the dealer). You schedule a visit, inspect the vehicle in person, then decide whether to buy. If something doesn't match the listing, you have a 24-hour review window to report it and request a refund when appropriate.

Anyone in Quebec and across Canada with a verified account can buy or sell on Réserve Achat. One account does everything — once you're signed up and verified, you can list vehicles for sale, reserve vehicles you're interested in, and manage everything from your dashboard. Dealerships use the same account to access RA Pro for inventory and deposits.

Reserving shows the seller you're committed to visiting — not just browsing. • It holds the vehicle for your inspection window so you're not competing with other buyers • It cuts down on ghosting, no-shows, and wasted trips for everyone • Fees and timelines are clear before you pay, so both sides know what to expect

• Sign up with your email address and phone number • Verify both before you can reserve or list a vehicle • One account works for buying, selling as an individual, and accessing RA Pro if you're a dealership

Use the language selector in the site footer or navigation to switch between English and French. Your choice updates the locale in the URL (for example /en/ or /fr/) so pages, help articles, and the marketplace stay in the language you prefer.

Reservations with Private Sellers

Reservations let you lock in a private seller's vehicle so you can go inspect it without losing it to another buyer. Here's how they work.

A reservation is a short hold on a private seller's listing. You pay $1 per day for up to 3 days to take the vehicle off the market while you arrange a visit. The fee and inspection window are always shown on the listing before you pay.

Open the listing, choose how many days you want to hold it (1 to 3 days at $1 per day), review the policies shown at checkout, and complete payment through Stripe. The seller is notified and has 24 hours to accept or decline. You'll see the status in your dashboard and can message the seller once the reservation is active.

If the vehicle is currently reserved, you can join the waitlist on the listing. When a slot opens, we'll notify you so you can reserve quickly. You can keep browsing other listings while you wait.

You choose 1 to 3 days at $1 per day when you reserve. That period is your window to coordinate and complete your in-person visit. The exact dates and fee are shown on the listing and at checkout before you pay.

Yes. After you pay, the seller has 24 hours to accept or decline your reservation. If they accept, the vehicle is held for your inspection period and in-app messaging opens so you can schedule your visit. If they decline, you receive a full refund automatically through Stripe.

If the seller doesn't accept or decline within 24 hours, the reservation request expires and you receive a full refund automatically. You can browse other listings or join the waitlist if the vehicle becomes available again.

Yes. Sellers can decline any reservation request within 24 hours — no pressure. If they decline, your reservation fee is refunded in full automatically through Stripe.

You can cancel anytime before the seller accepts your reservation and receive a full refund automatically. Once the seller accepts and your inspection period has started, cancellations are no longer available — you're expected to complete your visit or use the review window after inspection if something isn't right.

After a seller accepts, the reservation is active for your inspection period. If the seller needs to cancel in exceptional circumstances, the buyer is refunded according to platform policies. If you believe a cancellation was unfair, contact support with your reservation details.

Deposits with Dealerships

Deposits let you lock in a dealership's vehicle, schedule a real visit, and apply the amount toward the price if you buy. Here's how it works.

A deposit is a refundable hold you pay on a dealership listing to secure a viewing slot. The dealership sets the amount and inspection window; both are shown on the listing before you pay. It's separate from a private seller's $1-per-day reservation.

A private seller reservation is $1 per day for up to 3 days — a small hold while you arrange a visit. A dealership deposit is a larger amount (typically $100 to $1,000 CAD) set by the dealer, with an inspection window shown on the listing. Both are visible before you pay. Refund rules depend on whether the seller or dealership accepts, declines, or cancels, and on what happens during your visit.

Each dealership chooses a deposit between $100 and $1,000 CAD depending on the vehicle. The amount and inspection window are always displayed on the listing before you place your deposit.

Open the dealership listing, review the deposit amount and inspection window, accept the policies at checkout, and pay through Stripe. The dealership is notified and has 24 hours to accept or decline. Once accepted, you can coordinate your visit and the deposit applies toward the purchase if you buy, per the terms shown at checkout.

If the vehicle already has an active deposit, you can join the waitlist on the listing. When a slot opens, we'll notify you so you can place your deposit quickly. You can browse other vehicles while you wait.

Yes. After you pay, the dealership has 24 hours to accept or decline your deposit request. If they accept, your inspection period begins and you can coordinate your visit. If they decline, you receive a full refund automatically through Stripe.

If the dealership doesn't accept or decline within 24 hours, the deposit request expires and you receive a full refund automatically. You can browse other listings or join the waitlist if the vehicle becomes available again.

Yes. Dealerships can accept or decline deposit requests before the inspection period begins. If they decline, your deposit is refunded in full automatically through Stripe.

You can cancel before the dealership accepts your deposit and receive a full refund automatically. After acceptance and the start of the inspection period, cancellations are no longer available — complete your visit or use the review window if the vehicle doesn't match the listing.

After a dealership accepts, your deposit is active for the inspection period shown on the listing. If the dealership cancels, your deposit is returned according to the policy shown at checkout. Contact support if you need help with a specific case.

Yes. When a dealership lists a vehicle in RA Pro, they set the inspection window. You visit within that period to inspect the vehicle in person. The window is shown on the listing before you pay your deposit.

If you buy the vehicle, the deposit is applied toward the purchase price as described on the listing and at checkout. Complete the sale with the dealership directly according to their process; your deposit terms are confirmed before you pay.

If you decide not to buy after an inspection that matched the listing, the deposit is handled according to the terms shown at checkout and the dealership's policy — often released or settled as agreed with the dealer. If the vehicle didn't match the listing, use your 24-hour review window to request a refund. Contact support if you need help with a specific case.

Inspection and Visits

Once your reservation or deposit is active, the inspection period begins. Here's what you can do, what to check, and what happens when it ends.

As soon as your reservation or deposit is confirmed, use in-app chat to schedule your visit within your reserved window. Inspect the vehicle in person and compare it to the listing — condition, mileage, equipment, and history. There's no obligation to buy if it's not the right fit. After your visit, you have a 24-hour review window to report issues if something doesn't match.

Once your reservation or deposit is active, in-app messaging opens in your dashboard. Use it to agree on a date and time within your inspection window. For dealerships, contact details may also be shared according to the listing flow after confirmation.

Coordinate the location through in-app chat. Many buyers and sellers meet at the seller's preferred public location or where the vehicle is stored. Agree on a safe, convenient place before you travel.

Compare the vehicle to the listing: exterior and interior condition, mileage, tires, fluids, equipment, service history notes, and anything else that matters to you. Take your time — you're not obligated to buy. If something important doesn't match, note it for your review window after the visit.

Yes. Many buyers bring a friend, family member, or mechanic. Coordinate with the seller through chat so everyone knows what to expect.

Test drives depend on the seller and local rules. Ask in chat during your inspection period. Private sellers and dealerships may have different policies; agree on terms before you drive.

The prep sheet is a printable PDF from your dashboard that summarizes the listing and your reservation details — useful as a checklist when you inspect the vehicle. Open your active reservation and use the Prep Sheet option to download it.

When your inspection window ends, you should have completed your visit and decided whether to buy. The 24-hour review window opens after your inspection so you can leave a review or report a problem if the vehicle didn't match the listing.

Inspection windows are fixed by your reservation length (private sellers) or the dealership's settings. If something unexpected prevents you from visiting in time, message the seller or dealership through chat as soon as possible. Contact support if you need help.

If you want to buy, complete the sale with the seller or dealership directly using the process you agree on together. Réserve Achat handles the reservation or deposit hold; the final purchase happens between you and the seller. Leave a review after your visit to help other buyers and sellers.

Reviews and Disputes

The review window is the last phase of every reservation — your chance to share how it went, or flag a problem so we can process a refund. Here's how it works.

After your inspection, you have 24 hours to leave a review and, if needed, report that the vehicle didn't match the listing. For private sellers, we can process a refund when appropriate. For dealerships, you can request a refund — the dealer is notified and may issue a partial or full refund based on the situation.

Reviews help serious buyers and sellers find each other. Honest feedback about your visit makes the marketplace more transparent for everyone.

Open your reservation or deposit in the dashboard during the review window, choose a star rating, and add an optional comment. Submit before the 24-hour window closes.

Yes. Buyers and sellers can each leave a review after the visit. Reviews are part of closing out the reservation fairly for both sides.

Your review is recorded for the other party. When both sides have reviewed where applicable, the reservation can move to completed. If you also opened a dispute, support may follow up separately while your review stays on record.

If you don't leave a review or report an issue within 24 hours after inspection, the review window closes and the reservation typically completes under the terms you accepted at checkout. You may lose the ability to request a refund for listing mismatches after that window.

A dispute is how you flag a serious problem after your visit — for example, if the vehicle materially didn't match the listing. Support can review the case and help work toward a fair outcome, including refunds when appropriate.

Open a dispute from your reservation in the dashboard within your 24-hour review window after inspection. Include what differed from the listing while the details are still clear. Our team can mediate if you and the seller or dealership can't agree.

Go to your reservation or deposit in the dashboard, open the review or dispute flow during the 24-hour window, describe what went wrong, and submit. Add any details that help support understand how the vehicle differed from the listing.

Support reviews the listing, your notes, and responses from both sides. We'll work toward a fair outcome based on platform policies and the evidence provided. Refunds, when approved, are processed through Stripe and typically appear within 3–5 business days.

Yes. You can leave a review and also report a listing mismatch or open a dispute within the same review window when the visit didn't go as expected.

Reviews are displayed on profiles and listings where the platform shows reputation for buyers and sellers, so others can see feedback from completed reservations. Details of active disputes are handled privately with support until resolved.
